Bryan Cressey, JD/MBA '76 is a private equity pioneer. He has a penchant for healthcare - having made his first investment in healthcare in 1979. And he's still a believer in the sector. Hear from Bryan how he spots a company with promise and what it takes for innovators to partner with the right investors.
Biography:
Bryan Cressey is a pioneer in the field of private equity investing and co-founder to three of the largest private equity firms in the US. Ten years ago Bryan co-founded Cressey and Company, known for its expertise investing in healthcare providers. He has managed billions of dollars of private capital and spent his career investing in healthcare. He received a Healthcare Lifetime Achievement award from HCPEA.
Mr. Cressey has been pictured and featured in Time Magazine and Fortune Magazine and is asked to speak nationwide on healthcare and private equity investing. Mr. Cressey is an acknowledged expert in healthcare, where he has invested for over 35 years. He is well known for his consistently strong investment returns. He served as Chairman of a New York Stock Exchange company, Belden, and is a Director of several others, and has been elected to Chicago’s Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame and Chicago’s Business Hall of Fame. Mr. Cressey is also a founder and board member to several nonprofit organizations in the Chicago area. Bryan recently founded created an addiction treatment center called Above and Beyond, on Chicago’s West side, providing life transformation opportunities, free to the homeless and poor.
Mr. Cressey holds a JD '76 from Harvard Law School, an MBA '76 from Harvard Business School, and a BA in Economics from the University of Washington, Phi Beta Kappa.
