Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs NYC, Harvard in Tech, and Harvard Business School Angels of New York are pleased to host an evening with Carla Harris, Vice Chairman, Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley.
Carla Harris heads Morgan Stanley's Multicultural Innovation Lab, which invests in multicultural and female tech entrepreneurs who have traditionally faced institutional and cultural barriers to funding. She considers these investments to be a business opportunity borne of a market inefficiency: underinvestment in female and multicultural tech entrepreneurs.
Previously, she headed the Emerging Manager Platform at Morgan Stanley, the equity capital markets effort for the consumer and retail industries. Ms. Harris has extensive industry experience in the technology, media, retail, telecommunications, transportation, industrial, and health care sectors. She served as a senior member of the equity syndicate desk and in the mergers and acquisitions department at Morgan Stanley. Ms. Harris was appointed by President Obama to chair the National Women’s Business Council. She is the author the books Expect to Win and Strategize to Win. Ms. Harris holds an AB in economics from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
