ERC Tax Credit: Up to $100,000 for Startups

Please note: Time is in ET.

Join us for this timely event and learn how your startup may qualify for up to $100,000 in Employee Retention Credit (ERC) Tax Credit with “No Eligibility Documentation Necessary.”

ERC is a short-term tax credit opportunity to help offset the business difficulties encountered during COVID.

During this virtual session, our guest, Bryan Bloom, CPA, will share how startups that began after February 15, 2020 automatically qualify for the ERC tax credit for Q3 and Q4 of 2021. This is up to $50,000 per quarter if:

  • Your company has W2 employees besides yourself

  • Your company has not reached revenues of more than $1 million

You’ll learn how these companies can qualify for the credit of $100,000 – regardless of revenue or shutdown orders – and provide details on what would disqualify your company.

If you’re a startup but began operations before February 15, 2020, you may still qualify for the ERC Tax Credit based on your:

  • Number of W2 employees

  • Full or partial shutdown

  • Supply chain disruption

For example, a company with 20 W2 employees with supply chain disruption could get $311,000.

What’s important to remember about the ERC is the bar for qualification has gotten lower. If you didn’t qualify at the beginning of the program, that may no longer be the case now.

Bryan will also explain situations when it may be best for an owner not to use the “startup clause” to get the credit but try to qualify as a non-startup — for instance — if you founded your company before February 15, 2020.

This COVID relief money is getting harder to get by the day, due to statutes of limitations.
