HAE’s Pitch Feedback event is an opportunity for startup founders to pitch their business to expert judges who will provide live feedback addressing the strengths and weaknesses of their presentation.
This session will focus on the future of healthcare and some of the innovative startups within the field. The event will feature 4 healthcare-focused Harvard-founded ventures in various stages of the startup life cycle and 2 seasoned investors as judges.
This event will be 60 minutes long with each startup allowed 3 minutes to pitch followed by 10 minutes of live feedback and interaction from the judges.
Attendees can expect to learn more about HAE’s innovative startup ideas, how best to present a pitch deck, and what to look for when presenting your company.

About Our Founders:
Salma El-Yassir, CEO and co-founder of Womaneze a Femtech company, has served in several senior management positions in both the private health and development sectors. She has an undergraduate degree in economics from the London School of Economics and two Masters’ degrees, one in Public Health from the American University of Beirut and another in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
Quinnie Lin is the Founder and CEO of Demi Health, a Los Angeles-based tech startup providing integrated care to new parents for healthier pregnancy and birthing outcomes. She specialized in international anticorruption and conflicts mineral law at a DC law firm and was the lead organizer at the largest planned parenthood clinic in the nation. She also founded the Washington DC-based social impact consulting firm QB Strategies. A graduate of Boston public schools, Harvard College, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and Georgetown Law, Quinnie started community organizing at the age of 17 and has led campaigns that resulted in the establishment of the Ethnic Studies minor at Harvard and the mental health center at Georgetown Law.
Jessica Bell van der Wal is the CEO and Co-Founder of Frame Fertility. During her 15 year career in digital health, Jessica has built and sold digital health products to patients, payers, and employers at private and public companies. At Castlight Health, Nike, Deloitte Consulting, and Genentech she has led teams and owned P&Ls in marketing, product, analytics, operations, and strategy. She consults for early-stage digital health companies in B2B2C marketing and sits on the advisory boards of various digital health / private companies and non-profits. Jessica holds a BA in Public Health from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Ravi Viradia, Co-founder of Axxon LLC, is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon specializing in hand surgery and micro-surgery. He has authored questions written for board prep and board examinations and lectured at the American College of Surgeons (ACS), American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), American Society of Surgical Hand (ASSH), American Medical Association (AMA), Eastern Vascular Society (EVS), New England Hand Society (NEHS), and more. Ravi is a sitting member on the AMA national committees for public health, opioid task force, and long-range planning, in addition to the ACS committees on surgical education and membership. He is also a Plastic Surgery Resident Advisory Member for the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Global Surgery.
About Our Judges:
John Werner serves as Managing Director and Partner at Link Ventures, and as Chief Network Officer, SVP Corporate Development of Cogo Labs. He focuses on direct-to-consumer companies that can leverage their data expertise for customer acquisition. Link Ventures is a VC firm established in 2006 that invests in disruptive consumer internet technology companies that leverage big data to help them differentiate, scale, and become profitable. Link provides high-value data for low-cost customer acquisition to exceed revenue projections. Some of our more noteworthy investments include EverQuote (June 2018 IPO), Jobcase, Trust&Will, Motorefi, OwnUp. Before joining Link Ventures and Cogo Labs, John's deep curiosity and penchant for problem-solving led him to a diverse set of roles spanning many fields and interests. Previously, John was a VP at Meta, a Y-Combinator augmented reality startup based in Silicon Valley. John also served as the Head of Innovation and New Ventures at MIT's Camera Culture Group, and the Managing Director of Emerging Worlds SIG, where he led the launch of collaborative innovation centers in Mumbai, Nashik, and Hyderabad.
Kiki Mills Johnston is one of the founding team members of Drive by DraftKings and serves as Managing Director supporting overall strategy, investment diligence and recommendations, and portfolio management. Kiki has grown organizations in innovation ecosystems across the United States. In Boston, as Managing Director of MassChallenge, and spent over a decade advancing the emerging tech sector as President of The Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX). In San Francisco, as CEO of Full Circle Fund, a venture philanthropy network that funds social entrepreneurs driving impact in the Bay Area. In Austin at Mission Capital, she resourced early-stage organizations with capital, connections, and support to advance opportunities for underrepresented populations.
